Review of Three Barbecue Restaurants in San Antonio, Texas by San Antonio TX Hood Cleaning

San Antonio TX Restaurant Image2M Smokehouse BBQ is located at 2731 W. WW White Road in San Antonio, Texas. The place was opened on December 3, 2016 by two longtime friends, Joe Melig and Pitmaster Esaul Ramos. They had been talking about opening their own barbecue restaurant since they were in high school.

Esaul started cooking briskets in his back yard before moving to Austin. There he honed his skills as a Pitmaster for several years before approaching Joe about starting their own place in their hometown of San Antonio.

The two partners were not able to find investors, so they held pop up barbecues to raise money. When they found the perfect location, they spent day and night renovating the building to their needs. They had some help from family and friends, but, everything in 2M Smokehouse BBQ is done by hand with love.

Their love for cooking and spending time with family around a dinner table shows in every meal they create. The neighborhood has embraced these two friends and rave about them online. They have close to eight hundred posts giving them a strong four plus star rating.

Believe it or not, barbecue is so popular in Texas that there are high schools that have barbecue courses. There is even an organization called High School BBQ, Inc. that sponsors cook offs and give out awards. This non-profit corporation has a goal to enrich high school students by teaching them to prepare food in five categories: Ribs, Pinto Beans, Brisket, Chicken and dessert.

While there are new generations of Pitmasters coming up, Lupe Limon is actually a third-generation Pitmasters and is working at Brunwood ’68 located at 1012 N. Flores Street in San Antonio, Texas.San Antonio TX Restaurant BBQ

Brunwood ’68 is proud of their Oyler Smoker that is only the fourth of five that were produced by J&R Manufacturing. They Oyler Smoker was first featured at the World Trade Fair of 1968.

Their customers are so busy eating their fine food they forget to post reviews on the internet. They have less that one hundred reviews but the ones they do have rave about their unique atmosphere and amazing smoked meats.

Two Bros. BBQ Market is located at 12656 West Avenue. They were listed as one of the top fifty barbecue joints in the world by Texas Monthly. They were on the cover of The Prophets of Smoked Meat: A Journey Through Barbecue in 2013. USA Today said they were one of the best barbecues places on San Antonio in 2017.

San Antonio TX Restaurant PhotoWith accolades like that, the two brothers, Jake and Jason Dady, must be ecstatic! When they opened Two Bros. BBQ Market they insisted they would only smoke the meat low and slow in their custom-made smoke pits.

They must be doing something right with their secret dry rub then cook them in a rich smoke bath that chars the edges but keeps in the moisture for an amazing flavor. With over seventeen hundred appraisals on the world wide web, they are sure to sell out early so get there early!

Amazing Barbecue Restaurants in Orlando, Florida

Whenever people think of Orlando, Florida, they think Disney Land. However, there are more than a dozen theme parks in Orland. The population in 2017 was recorded as 280,257 so that means the majority of the population at one time or another is tourists.

Some of more known theme parks are SeaWorld, Orlando, Universal Studios and LEGOLAND Florida. Last year I was in Orlando and did the popular main Disney Land day but was not that excited about it. For one, the it was hot as hell and you really had to scoot from one spot to another to get to the rides – we used the Fast Pass so you were running from one ride to the next.

The last day I was there, a friend and I decided we did not want to do the normal hustle and bustle so we headed to Gatorland. Now, Gatorland is not a place to go if you want to take rides, however, they do have funny events like Gator Jumparoo. It was just refreshing for us to just wander around and look at the gators and take our time. We did have our picture taken with a bunch of gators we just fed. That was cool.

Well, after a big day with the gators you may want to take in some down-home comfort food. I have found three great barbecue places you may want to try the next time you are in Orlando.

Orlando Florida RestaurantsBubbalou’s Bodacious Bar-B-Que has five locations, two of which are in Orlando. There is the Alafaya Trail location and the Conroy Road location.

They have been featured in local and national magazines. Some of the national magazine include Southern Living where they were featured twice, one in their “Favorites” issue and the other was in their “Bar-b-que” addition. Orlando – The City Magazine has featured them three times in their magazines twice for their annual “Dining Awards” and the other was “The Best of the Best” issue.

Bubbalou’s Bodacious Bar-B-Que would love to cater your next event. They have one of the finest catering teams in Orlando. They happily set-up, serve and clean. Their service will provide BBQ sauces, utensils, set-up, plates and some of the best mouth-watering barbecue Central Florida has to offer.Orlando FL Restaurant

Ask them about their party packs. These are pre-set catering menu’s that can serve from six to eight people up to a feast for one hundred. Bubbalou’s Bodacious Bar-B-Que has a strong four plus rating in reviews on the web. So, it is recommended you definitely put this place on your list of restaurants you should visit.

Orlando FL RestaurantsBig John’s Rocking BBQ was opened September 11, 2015 by “Big John” Glover. He chose to locate this place in downtown Kissimmee, Florida which is adjacent to Orlando.

Big John started his barbecue passion as a hobby. Entertaining family and friends with amazing neighborhood cookouts and family gatherings turned his hobby into a fast-growing catering business.

Eventually Big John decided he should open a family-friendly restaurant with a “rock-n-roll” vibe. The walls are decorated with concert posters and albums which are sure to bring back some crazy memories.

Using locally sourced goods, Big John will slow roast a smoked-brisket to perfection. He has taken handed down homemade family recipes from not only his family but from his employees and added his own twist to perfect sides over the decades.Orlando FL Restaurant media

Big John’s Rocking BBQ was featured in the Oscela Woman Magazine. The magazine is an independent local publication promoting great places in the Orlando, Florida area. Along with this accolade, he ranks a four-point-three on the web for positive posts.

Orlando Florida Restaurant photoYellow Dog Eats is located in The Brockman House which is located in downtown Gotha. Originally built in 1910 by a Lizzie Brockman. After she married they stayed in the house until 1917. The property changed hands many times after that to eventually be turned into a store. At one time it was called Hamm’s Grocery after Margie and Bill Hamm who purchased the property in 1947. They ran the store for thirty years before retiring. It then became Fischer’s General Store until 1999. After it was purchased by the Morgan Family around then, their son, Fish, who was a trained chef, converted the building in to the restaurant it is today.

Chef Fish Morgan, creator of Yellow Dog Eats, uses as much food he can source locally like his fifteen varieties of locally grown baby greens. They smoke their beef, pork, bacon and other meats slowly over natural and apple woods.

Since they have won the coveted “Cheese Burger In Paradise” trophy two years in a row, their fandom has increased. People come from all over to try their famous ahi tuna sliders. Recently they won the Orlando Business Journal’s Restaurant Madness Contest. I can see why they have over fifteen hundred reviews on the internet with a four-point-eight rating.

Hop & Vine is proud of their beer selection with alcohol by volume beers you can select one that is a little milder than another. For example, their Freaky Deaky is a Belgian Tripel with 10% ABV. It is light in color and brewed with American Hops. Or for those of you who prefer less alcohol by volume try to Mango Cart Fruit Beer that is only 4% ABV. This iconic beer was inspired by the fruit cart vendors of Los Angeles. It boasts a light refreshing wheat ale with lots of fresh mango and a pleasant, slightly tart finish.

The wine selection will take you form white wines like Lange Twins Moscato to J. Lohr Reisling. For those of you who prefer a less sweet dryer white wine try their Teira Sauvignon blanc or their William Hill Chardonnay.

San Antonio RestauantStella Public Houses’s invented the “farm to pizza” idea. The concept is to use local partnerships with purveyors, ranchers and growers to create an exceptional pizza. Behloradsky Brewery it was sold to San Antonio Brewing Association in 1883 where it was rebuilt and renamed Pearl’s Brewhouse in 1894. Known as the largest brewery in Texas by 1916 it was the only brewery in San Antonio to survive Prohibition. Sadly it was closed down in 2001. Silver Ventures acquired the property in 2002 and started to renovate the Pearl which eventually became the Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery

Sporting over nine hundred reviews online, the Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery should be on our bucket list in San Antonio.

Orlando’s Trio of the Best Restaurants of 2018

orlando restaurant korean tofu

Orlando has had some restaurants packing up and leaving lately, which paved the way for fresher ideas. I have gone to each of these new restaurants and made sure the food was up to par, so I’ll let you readers know exactly what my experiences were. Let me just preface these reviews by saying that I clearly have nothing negative to say about these restaurants, otherwise I obviously wouldn’t have included them.

orlando restaurant seafood pancake

BBB Tofu House offers some really unique food, and it tops my list for a reason. I’m glad this restaurant decided to move to Orlando, because some of the food sounds so strange that I probably wouldn’t have wanted to order it elsewhere. You’ll be eating by Pine Hills in Orlando, which is somewhat close to some water if you’re dying to look at the view while you eat.

Otherwise, I’d recommend staying inside where it’s cool and air conditioned. BBB Tofu House is an attractive restaurant on the inside nonetheless. First of all, this restaurant’s menu is ridiculous but in a good way. If you’re a risk taker or just enjoy trying new food in general, you’ll be happy to hear that the unique food is not in short supply.

The two dishes that I ordered were the Galbi short ribs and seafood pancakes, and they were amazing. I have never seen seafood pancakes anywhere else, and I’m not sure I want to. I seriously doubt that very many restaurants could top the food at BBB Tofu House. In addition, the wait staff here is all very friendly and accommodating. They will always make sure you have everything you need, and then some.

In fact, they made sure that the table was clean right before I sat down. This was during rush hour too, when everyone is trying to get seated and eat in restaurants! I always appreciate helpful staff, so their professional attitude is welcome here in Orlando.

For anybody who is still unsure whether or not to try out BBB Tofu House’s creative food, check out all of the great online reviews on google and Yelp. Seeing as how it’s a new restaurant, if you look hard enough, you might even see mine in there. It’s probably going to be lost in the big pile once all the positive things people have to say start flooding in.

orlando restaurant kadence asian

Here’s another Asian restaurant, but this time with more emphasis placed on the seafood aspect of it. Kadence has reignited my interest in seafood, bringing the look and feel of a high-end restaurant without the steep prices. This time around, you’ll be eating near Audubon Park in Orlando. Make sure to check out all of the beautiful scenery if you have time before or after your meal.

Lots of water all over, and it’s a very beautiful area in Orlando overall. Don’t worry, they also serve pasta and other things like that if you’re not into the whole seafood style of cuisine. Kadence’s whole menu is actually very diverse, so I don’t doubt that everyone should be able to find something on the menu that they will enjoy. I’m an old-school kind of guy with a plain taste for food, so I only ordered the fish and chips.

I wasn’t expecting much, because most restaurants include fish and chips on the menu just to have it there for people to order. Right from the first bite, I could tell that this restaurant’s chefs care about the food they make. Kadence’s kitchen isn’t some assembly line where the chefs are factory workers trying to increase efficiency by being robots, they’re people who care deeply about their trade.

I made sure to recommend this restaurant to all of my Orlando friends, and I’ll be able to pick up the bill this time because everything on the menu is priced very affordably. Kadence only accepts reservations, so that turns some people off right from the get go if they have children or other obligations. I still believe that it’s a great place to go nonetheless, and those couples can always find a babysitter.

Most classy restaurants that only accept reservations have smug waiters who think they don’t have to look at you when they talk to you or things like that, but Kadence still feels like any other restaurant. In one instance, the owner actually came out and talked to me to make sure I was satisfied with my meal.

Kindness is always appreciated, so I made sure to give him the number of the Orlando hood cleaning business I work for and said we could use more respectful customers like him. In the end, it was a very enjoyable Orlando restaurant experience for me. Look at all the other amazing reviews Kadence have if you don’t believe me.

orlando restaurant salad green beans

I may have put The Rusty Spoon last on this list, but don’t discredit it in any way. This restaurant is a hidden Orlando gem, refined by the owner and chefs’ years of experience. Here, you’ll be eating by Parramore in Orlando. I could tell right off the bat that the owner knew what he was doing as he toured around the restaurant and filled any duties that staff were too busy to currently perform.

Another restaurant with a wide selection of food, but none of them taste as fresh as this place. Next time I’m actually going to see if I can ask the chefs where they get all of their produce from, because the food here is killer. All of you adults out there who read this review won’t be disappointed with the cocktail menu, either.

So far my favorite dish has been the burger I ordered. I can’t seem to remember what exactly it was, other than how good it was. That night, I even saw the elderly couple sitting behind me trying to operate their smartphone and write a positive online review for The Rusty Spoon because they liked their meal so much.

That’s when you know you’ve got something good. If I had the money and know-how, I would probably try investing in this restaurant to assist them in reaching out to as many people as possible.
